Practical information

Tickets & Payment

How do I buy a ticket?

We are selling tickets though Ticket Tailor with payment through Paypal. Get your ticket now.

Payment to Frontend United go through the Paypal account of Drupal Association.

Please note when making your payment please reference it with "Suggested donation for Frontend United 2013."

The camp is backed up by the Drupal Association and payments are fully transparent.

If you have any problems paying, please use the contact form.

I don't have a Paypal account

At the Paypal site, you can choose the option "Don't have a Paypal Account". This will allow you to pay using a normal creditcard like VISA or Mastercard.

We currently have no way to accept payment that completely bypasses Paypal unless you prefer to buy your ticket at the door.

Practical

Is lunch, breakfast or coffee/tea included?

With help from our lovely sponsors, coffee and tea will be served for all attendees. Seriously, frontend developers without caffeine, who would want to be in a room with those?

We aren't able to provide lunch unfortunately, but we have scheduled a lunch break (1h30) so feel free to go grab some of the eclectic foods available nearby, Shoreditch is full of yummy places :)
Don't forget to tweet about the best places using the #frontendunited hashtag to let others now.

How will I get my conference badge?

We are doing something good for the environment and simply require your entry code received at the time of purchase, so we can check that you're registered and hand over the conference badge upon arrival at the venue.

You don't need to print the confirmation. We accept entry codes from memory, tattoos, SMS or on your phone. We like trees better before they become paper.

Can I get a confirmation letter for my business/boss/school etc, to say that I really attended the conference?

Sure! We can send a letter of confirmation after the conference has ended. Best is to drop us an email on our contact page with your full name, company/institution and any additional information (sessions you attended?) that you need on the letter. We'll send a .pdf to you if everything checks out.

Will the sessions be in English?

Frontend United 'speaks' English. We are gathering designers, sitebuilders and developers from across Europe, and unless our order of Babel Fish arrives in time speaking English is our best bet.

All sessions and social events will be in English :-)

Speakers

Do I have to pay for my ticket if I speak at Frontend United?

NO! - but please consider making a donation to the cause!

How do you select sessions?

Our so-called "genius" panel will select sessions and speakers according to topics and their relevance, interest factor, variety, the future of frontend. We want to keep it simple for the organisation of the camp, yet diverse and interesting for the attendees. We, of course, welcome any ideas or suggestions.

I have an idea for a session, but it's not about one of the themes of the camp. Should I still submit it?

Absolutely. The themes of the camp are supposed to be a guideline and act as inspiration, not strict rules. Any session on design, Drupal, mobile, open source or frontend development is welcome. The same goes for any session that would interest, inspire or provoke (in a good way) the attendees.

How long is a session? What should I prepare for?

A session slot is 45 minutes. Best is to prepare for a 30-minute presentation and leave 15 minutes for Q&A and discussions.
